The mother of two Watertown teens has been charged by police for not properly storing the firearm that her boyfriend used to fatally shoot her children more than a year ago.
In December 2019, Paul Ferguson killed Sterling and Della Jette after an argument about him smoking cigarettes in the house escalated. Ferguson then took his own life moments later.
Danielle Jette, 41, now faces criminal charges of negligent storage of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor and criminal liability for the acts of another, police announced Friday afternoon.
The tragic incident began with Jette arguing with her daughter over Ferguson’s smoking, and after Ferguson told the 15-year-old girl to stop speaking to her mother like that, he went to receive a gun.
