Waterbury man walks into lobby twice without mask, gets arrested, police say

Police said they arrested a man who twice walked into the Waterbury police station lobby against directions and without a mask on.

Mark Ciriello, 48, of South Main Street was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and violation of Gov. Ned Lamont’s executive order masks, they said. He was released on a promise to appear in court.

According to police, a maskless Ciriello on Saturday walked past a sign that says “No Entry” due to COVID-19 and complained about his car being towed. The sign instructs visitors to contact the front desk via intercom.

Ciriello then came into the lobby without a mask on a second time, again walking past the sign.
