The Missouri Tigers are on the board first, but it’s thanks to a bit of special teams play. The Tigers’ defense had forced a second straight three-and-out for the UConn Huskies.
The Huskies were backed way up to their own four yard line. Justin Wain was punting from the back of his endzone. Missouri linebacker Clarence Green got in and leaped up to block the punt that rolled out the back of the endzone.
The Tigers went up 2-0, but a Maty Mauk interception allowed the Huskies to get down the field and score. Ron Johnson got into the endzone from six yards out and the Tigers came up big on special teams again with a blocked PAT.
