Vernon brings COVID-19 vaccine directly to homebound residents in mobile home park in continued effort to target hard to reach communities

From mosques, Spanish-speaking churches and now a community comprised of 55 and older residents, Vernon is making a concerted effort to target hard to reach communities for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The town’s mobile clinic found itself Tuesday at Vernon Village, a housing community with a majority of its population age-eligible for the vaccine.

Medical providers were able to vaccinate 45 residents with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Three of those shots were done in-home for homebound individuals.
