Joining a growing list of lawsuits targeting colleges and universities over their response to COVID-19, a University of New Haven student sued his school Thursday for failing to provide an appropriate refund when school officials canceled in-person classes and moved students online last spring during the height of the pandemic.
In the 30-page suit filed Thursday in federal court, lawyers for Krystian Wnorowski contend that lost out on the benefits of on-campus enrollment that he had already paid for when the university rapidly shut down its campus in early March.
“These realities notwithstanding, Defendant has refused and continues to refuse to offer any refund whatsoever with respect to the tuition that had already been pre-paid,” the lawsuit reads.
