The UConn women’s soccer team came into Sunday’s game with the East Carolina Pirates in Greenville, North Carolina needing a win to clinch the American Athletic Conference regular season championship and the privileges that go along with it. If the Huskies could not find a way to win, then they would have to hope Memphis would not emerge victorious in their match.
After falling behind 1-0 in the 10th minute, it took Stephanie Ribeiro and the Huskies until the 87th minute to complete the comeback when Ribeiro scored her 19th goal of the year to take the lead.
