Scoring was certain to be an issue for the UConn Huskies women’s soccer team this season after losing 91 percent of their goal scoring from last season. It has been a major issue through their first three games and that trend continued Friday as UConn fell 1-0 to the St. John’s Red Storm at the CCSU Tournament in New Britain, Connecticut.
The Huskies have now failed to score in their last 302 minutes of game-action, going back to the season-opener against Syracuse.
They weren’t without their chances, though.
While St. John’s controlled possession in the first half, UConn took advantage of their time with the ball, attacking the net early and often.
