On Monday night, UConn women’s basketball was crowned Big East Tournament champions with a 73-39 win over the Marquette Golden Eagles. It is the Huskies’ 19th Big East Tournament title and 53rd conference championship.
Paige Bueckers was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after a 23-point, six-rebound and four-assist night in the championship game and 19.3 points, 5.0 assists and 5-11 shooting from beyond the arc over the three games at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Christyn Williams and Olivia Nelson-Ododa both made the All-Tournament team. Williams finished with 16 points in the final while Nelson-Ododa had a balanced night with five points, seven rebounds and five assists.
