UConn women’s basketball’s streak of 240 consecutive wins over unranked opponents came to an end on Thursday night as the Huskies fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 57-44. They failed to reach the 45-point mark for the first time since 2006, when Rutgers held them to 42.
In its first game without Paige Bueckers, UConn was outscored 18-5 in the fourth quarter. The offense went cold at the 2:32 mark of the third and didn’t make another field goal for the next 11:11. The Huskies had more turnovers (six) than points (five) in the final quarter and shot 21.
