UConn Women’s Basketball Shoots Past Temple, 109-74

In a game that featured little defense, the UConn women’s basketball team defeated the Temple Owls 109-74 in front of a sold-out crowd in Gampel Pavilion.

Temple jumped ahead first, scoring the first five points of the game before UConn quickly responded, tying the game at seven apiece. The Huskies seized their first lead of the game thanks to a 7-0 run that put them up 14-9 thanks to four points by Napheesa Collier and three by Megan Walker and never looked back.

Despite taking the lead, UConn struggled to get separation from the Owls. However, a late surge, capped by a buzzer-beater from Christyn Williams, put the Huskies up nine at the end of the first quarter.
