UConn women’s basketball’s non-conference slate is officially set. Like most years, the Huskies will play one of the toughest slates in the country with six opponents that finished in the NCAA’s NET rankings: South Carolina (4), Louisville (6), UCLA (8), Oregon (10), Tennessee (16) and Arkansas (24) as well as seven teams (those six along with Georgia Tech) that made the NCAA Tournament.
“I think this team is young and has a lot of energy,” head coach Geno Auriemma said in a release. “We want them to compete against the top teams in the country. We have a lot of players who haven’t experienced what it is to play in front of a crowd at UConn, so we’re hopeful and excited that will happen this season.
