A day after leading the UConn Huskies back to the Final Four, Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson both made Associated Press All-American teams.
Collier was named a First Team All-American after the senior averaged a double-double with 20.9 points and 10.5 rebounds during the regular season. Despite somehow being left off the finalist lists for both the Naismith and Wade Trophies, awarded to the best player in the country, Collier received more votes for the first team than any other player.
The rest of the first team is rounded out by Louisville’s Asia Durr, Iowa’s Megan Gustafson, Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu and Mississippi State’s Teaira McCowan.
