In its first Big East game in 2,835 days, No. 3 UConn women’s basketball defeated the Seton Hall Pirates, 92-65. The Huskies improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
After a slow start, Bueckers ended up with 23 points on 11-14 shooting along with five assists and four rebounds. Aaliyah Edwards totaled 17 points and eight rebounds. Overall, UConn’s freshmen accounted for 48 points — 52 percent of the team’s scoring.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa notched her first double-double of the year with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Christyn Williams surpassed her point total from the season opener (10) in the first quarter with 11 points and finished with 21 points on the night.
