For the second straight game, UConn women’s basketball head coach Geno Auriemma will not be on the sideline coaching due to a stomach virus.
“Based on my doctor’s recommendations, I’ve decided it’s in my best interest to stay home and fully recuperate,” Auriemma said in a statement provided by UConn. “I look forward to being back on the sideline at 100 percent this weekend.”
Without Auriemma, the Huskies have fared just fine with his top lieutenant Chris Dailey at the helm. They picked up a win this weekend over Tulsa without their head coach and are 8-0 all-time when he has missed games.
