No. 11 UConn women’s basketball fell behind early on the road in an 80-68 loss to the No. 10 Texas Longhorns on Sunday. The Huskies have lost three games this season — their most at this point in the calendar since 1986-87, Geno Auriemma’s second year in charge.
Texas jumped out to a 15-2 lead before the Huskies made a run to get back within five. They wouldn’t get any closer. The Longhorns took an eight-point lead into halftime and although UConn made it interesting in the end, it wasn’t enough.
Aaliyah Edwards (22 points) and Paige Bueckers (13) put the offense on their backs.
