A year after only grabbing one commitment, UConn women’s basketball has received a verbal commitment from Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 player in the class of 2020 and widely considered one of the top prospects out of high school in a handful of years.
A 5-foot-11 point guard from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Bueckers is “an excellent ball handler, [with] a smooth transition game, excellent court vision, and big-time scoring ability” according to High Post Hoops’ Blake BuDonis.
Bueckers earned Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year honors in both 2018 and 2019. She has also played with the USA National Team on the U16 and U17 level.
