UConn officer charged with stalking sent anonymous letters, photographs alleging inappropriate relationship to high-ranking UConn administrators, warrant says

A veteran UConn police officer charged this week with stalking and harassment is believed to have sent anonymous letters and photos alleging an inappropriate relationship and professional misconduct to high-ranking university administrators in the weeks before he was taken into custody, an arrest warrant shows.

Peter J. Zavickas, 54, a 17-year UConn officer assigned to the Avery Point campus, was charged with two counts each of electronic stalking, second-degree stalking, third-degree computer crime and fifth-degree computer crime, as well as a single count of second-degree harassment.

A UConn spokesperson said Zavickas is on leave pending a review.
