UConn men’s hockey’s Saturday matchup with the Providence Friars will not be played due to COVID-19 protocols, Hockey East announced. The two teams were set to face-off at 4 p.m. at Freitas Ice Forum. A source told The UConn Blog it is not due to an issue within the Huskies’ program. Providence women’s hockey also had its Saturday game called off.
Despite this, UConn will remain in normal protocols with normal testing this week.
The Huskies’ men’s basketball program was forced to pause for 10 days on Jan. 27 after a referee from its win over Butler tested positive for the virus.
