UConn men’s hockey played a strong game on Saturday night, but Jake Oettinger was stronger, making 36 saves in net as No. 20 Boston University escaped the Huskies, 2-1, to move on to the Hockey East tournament semifinals.
“We gave it everything we had,” UConn captain Derek Pratt said.
Max Kalter scored the lone UConn goal, despite sending 37 shots at Oettinger, including 28 in the final 20 minutes.
The Huskies dominated the third period, generating 15 shots to the Terriers’ five and allowed just three shots on five penalties, but could not come out with the win.
