UConn men’s hockey is on a roll, as they completed the season sweep with a strong 4-2 win over No. 11 Northeastern on Friday night. It’s the first time they have strung this many wins together since 2001-02 and with just two regular-season wins to go, the streak can’t come at a better time.
With its win over Northeastern, UConn accomplished two firsts for the program. They won inside Matthews Arena for the first time, after losing their previous five Hockey East games there by a combined score of 26-5, not including a pair of shellackings before these Huskies made the jump to Hockey East.
