UConn men’s basketball handled its post-Thanksgiving opponent with ease, taking down the Manhattan Jaspers, 90-60, at the XL Center Friday afternoon. Dan Hurley’s Huskies have tied the NCAA record for consecutive double-digit wins in non-conference play; they’ll go for the record on Monday night.
The Huskies went to the paint early and often in this one. Donovan Clingan hit a hook shot for the game’s first basket and finished with 12 points at halftime on his way to 17, hitting 7-of-11 shots while grabbing 4 rebounds in 18 minutes. Samson Johnson finished with four points and five rebounds in 20 minutes as UConn scored 54 points in the paint to the Jaspers’ 24.
