UConn Men’s Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach Carlos Daniel Leaves for NBA Job

Just six months after accepting the job at UConn, men’s basketball strength and conditioning coach Carlos Daniel is leaving Storrs to become the Denver Nuggets’ assistant strength and conditioning coach.

The news was originally reported by Chris Dempsey of Nuggets.com on Oct. 15, and the Huskies are already looking for a replacement as there’s already a job posting online.

Daniel was brought on after former strength and conditioning coach Travis Illian was let go during UConn’s disappointing 2016-17 season. Daniel’s inclusion on the staff was noted as one of the key factors in Isaiah Whaley’s commitment.
