Late Wednesday morning, UConn’s men’s basketball announced that Mike Rehfeldt will take over as the new Director of Sports Performance. He replaces Sal Alosi, who held the position for the last two seasons before the team choose “to go in another direction,” per Hearst CT’s Dave Borges.
Rumors of the move had been rumbling for weeks and though his appointment is now official, Rehfeldt has already gotten to work in helping Dan Hurley restore the program to its former glory.
“We are very pleased to add a coach of Mike’s experience and expertise to our staff,” Hurley said in a release.
