With the program already enduring its second COVID-related shutdown of the season and Friday’s matchup with St. John’s postponed as a result, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Sunday’s UConn men’s basketball game against Georgetown was in jeopardy. On Wednesday morning, the Big East announced the game would be rescheduled and inserted the Red Storm as a replacement opponent for the Hoyas.
UConn is currently in the midst of determining exactly how long the program will need to be on pause. Current protocols dictate that players and staff can return to practice after seven days of continuous negative tests, unless there is an additional positive, in which case that is extended to ten days.
