UConn men’s basketball may be without point guard Alterique Gilbert for the rest of the season after the redshirt sophomore suffered a concussion and eye injury when colliding with an opposing player in Thursday night’s game against Temple, according to UConn. The school said Gilbert “will be held out of all basketball activity for an indefinite period of time.”
After leaving the game, Gilbert was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he was held overnight before being released on Friday morning.
Gilbert previously missed five games previously this season with a shoulder injury. The Huskies close the regular season on Sunday before the AAC Tournament begins next weekend.
