On Friday, WNBA All-Star captain A’ja Wilson suffered an ankle sprain which will prevent her from playing in the All-Star game this coming weekend. With a replacement needed, former UConn star Napheesa Collier earned the nod to join the WNBA All-Star roster.
Collier, whose rookie season has been off to a fantastic start since opening night, is the first Minnesota Lynx rookie since fellow UConn alumnae Maya Moore (2011) to be named an All-Star.
Collier currently ranks 23rd in the league for total points scored (209), 21st in total rebounds (113) and 26th in assists (43). She also has 36 steals on the season, which ranks an third in the league.
