UConn Football to Play at Tennessee in 2026

UConn football’s first non-conference opponent in 2026 is finally set. On Wednesday, the Board of Trustees approved a game at Tennessee, where the Huskies will make $1.8 million.

The two schools originally agreed to play in 2008 with the games coming in 2015 and 2016. However, those dates were pushed back and the Waterbury Republic American’s Ed Daigneault recently reported that Tennessee tried to back out, but UConn wouldn’t allow it. Now, instead of a home-and-home, the Huskies will travel to Knoxville for one game and get a much bigger payday.

This is the second game UConn will be paid to play, joining Clemson in 2021.
