Head coach Randy Edsall went back to his old stomping grounds to secure the signature of UConn’s latest 2021 commit, interior lineman Kyrik Mason, early Thursday afternoon.
The Baltimore, Maryland native is nothing if not a massive human, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing in north of 250 pound. He can play on both sides of the line of scrimmage, slotting in at both offensive and defensive tackle.
Mason held offers from assorted FCS schools in addition to FBS Liberty and Pitt, although the latter was handed to him in 2019, so it’s unclear as to whether they were still actively recruiting him.
