Earlier this week, UConn football publicly announced the first steps toward handling its 2020 schedule after the Huskies sat out this past season due to COVID-19.
On Tuesday UConn announced that the matchup against Indiana, originally set for Sept. 20, 2020, has been rescheduled for 2026, taking place at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field on the same date.
As for the rest of the schedule, Hearst’s Mike Anthony is reporting they are all canceled. According to Anthony’s article, all of the games on UConn’s 2020 schedule have an impossibility clause in their game contracts, which stipulates that no party will be in breach of contract in the event of “an unforeseen catastrophe or disaster” and COVID-19 certainly fits the bill for that.
