After picking up 2017 running back Kevin Mensah last week, UConn football added another 2017 player in JUCO transfer Santana Sterling.
Sterling, a 6-foot-2, 226 pound linebacker from Chandler, Arizona, originally committed to Arizona State out of the class of 2014. However, Santana would eventually transfer to Mesa Community College where he collected 105 tackles in 11 games last season..
As a JUCO transfer, Sterling will join the Huskies this fall with two years of eligibility remaining. He will help augment a linebacking corp that lost EJ Levenberry for the season to a torn ACL.
