UConn football’s running back depth took another hit on Tuesday. Head coach Randy Edsall announced Zavier Scott will undergo knee surgery on Friday that is expected to keep him out until August. The redshirt freshman injured his PCL and MCL in the last game against SMU.
Scott led the team with 33 catches to go with 228 yards and a touchdown. He didn’t run the ball too often but was effective when he did, taking 34 carries for 210 yards, good for 6.2 yards per carry.
With the injury, the Huskies have few options left at running back.
