UConn Football: QB Donovan Williams Becomes Huskies' First 2016 Commit

Virginia native picked up UConn offer Wednesday and committed Thursday.

UConn is no longer among the handful of FBS programs without a 2016 commit.

The Huskies received a verbal commitment from 3-star (Rivals and 247Sports) Virginia quarterback Donovan Williams Thursday, making him the first addition to Bob Diaco's Class of 2016.

Williams' decision comes one day after picking up an offer from the Huskies. UConn made the move at Williams despite his commitment to James Madison. Williams verbally committed to the FCS program May 5.

Before committing to James Madison, Williams also had offers from Fordham, Delaware, William and Mary, and Richmond.
