UConn football announced Tuesday that linebackers coach Jon Wholley has left the football program effective March 19 to pursue other professional opportunities.
Wholley, a walk-on running back for the Huskies from 2001-04, first returned as a coach from 2010-13 before going to Fordham. After some time with the Rams, Wholley teamed up with Randy Edsall in 2017, with Wholley taking over as linebackers coach for the past two season as the Huskies were one of the worst defenses in the history of college football.
As part of the release, Edsall announced that Jarren Horton was hired to fill Wholley’s position.
