It seems UConn football is taking a page out of basketball’s graduate transfer playbook. Monday, linebacker D.J. Morgan, formerly of Notre Dame, announced his commitment to UConn as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility. Morgan will be able to play right away as he finishes up his degree this spring.
The transfer helps fill the void left by the senior Santana Sterling, as well Darrian Beavers and Marshe Terry, the latter two of which transferred. Despite only appearing in two games during his Irish career, Morgan will compete for a starting linebacker spot while serving as a mentor for a young defense.
