UConn football secured its first commitment from the class of 2022 on Wednesday afternoon, quarterback Christopher Calhoun II from Jacksonville, Florida.
The announcement came shortly after head coach Randy Edsall sent out one of his usual recruiting announcement tweets, which seemed to forecast more commitments to follow.
Calhoun is a dual-threat quarterback from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He has good size for a mobile thrower at 5-foot-2, 180 pounds, and can damage defenses with a quick first step, but also has a textbook release from the pocket as well as rolling out.
