UConn football ended its season with a 31-18 win over regional rival and brother in FBS independence UMass at McGuirk Stadium in Amherst on Saturday.
The Huskies forced turnovers on three of the first four UMass drives, starting the scoring with a pick-six off Taisun Phommachanh, the former four-star recruit from Connecticut who started his college career at Clemson, by sophomore cornerback Mumu Bin Wahad. A botched snap on the extra point made it 6-0.
A UMass fumble on its own 28-yard line led to a field goal that made it 9-0, and a turnover on downs set UConn up in opposing territory for the second consecutive drive, leading to another field goal to put the Huskies up 12.
