UConn football started strong but couldn’t hang with the Cincinnati Bearcats at all as the Huskies fell 49-7 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium.
Billy Crocker’s defense struggled yet again, allowing 661 yards of total offense, 339 through the air and 322 on the ground at 8.2 per play. UConn stopped Cincinnati on 7 of 14 third downs but gave up 3 of 4 fourth down conversions.
UConn flew down the field on its first drive, going 75 yards on five plays in just 1:56 to take a 7-0 lead. Pindell completed passes of 41 and then rushed for 17 on the next play to get the Huskies in range before hitting Kyle Buss for the score.
