On a warm, cloudy day in Fairfield, Connecticut, the UConn baseball team earned a solid 7-0 win over the Fairfield Stags at Alumni Baseball Diamond. The Huskies took advantage of a sloppy day by the Stags, relying on several walks and errors to build the lead.
With the win, the Huskies improved to 23-13, and extended their winning streak against Fairfield to ten games.
Andrew Zapata continued to pitch well for the Huskies, tossing seven scoreless innings against a hapless Fairfield offense. He controlled his fastball well, with only one walk, and struck out five Stag batters, mixing up his pitches well.
