UConn baseball fought hard, but a flurry of offense in the latter innings wasn’t enough to overcome an eight run deficit. The Huskies lost 12-10 to Coastal Carolina in the final game of the Baseball at the Beach Tournament.
UConn’s pitching staff, depleted after a full weekend’s worth of games, just couldn’t string together enough outs in the early innings. As a result, Coastal Carolina exploded offensively.
The Huskies allowed at least one run in the first five innings, allowing 12 in that span. The Chanticleers scored five runs via the long ball. Deputy catcher Tanner Garrison went 3-for-3 with two homers, three runs, a single, and a walk.
