Coming off an excellent 2017 campaign which ended with a World Series victory for his team, World Series MVP honors, his first All-Star Game appearance and a Silver Slugger Award, former UConn outfielder George Springer will be making a second trip to the Midsummer Classic, joining the 2018 American League roster as a reserve
In his fifth season for the Houston Astros, the team that drafted him 11th overall in the 2011 MLB Draft, Springer is rocking a .332 on base percentage, .759 OPS, and 15 home runs with 43 RBI.
Springer has had some setbacks this season due to injury, which may have contributed to a recent slump at the plate.
