The city’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted police to gunfire at 25 Sterling St. in the Upper Albany neighborhood about 8:30 p.m. While officers were on their way to the scene, they learned that two wounded people had sought treatment on their own.

Police said Monday night that they don’t know what led up to the shooting. The Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions are investigating.

Anyone with information that may help them is asked to call the department’s tip line at 860-722-8477 (TIPS).
