The shootings, neither of which was fatal, followed the death of a 19-year-old in gunfire earlier in the day and two shootings on Monday.
Both of Tuesday afternoon’s gunshot victims were shot in the leg and are expected to recover. The first was shot on Enfield Street in the North End; the second on Russ Street in the Capitol area.
According to police, about 1:50 p.m., the city’s ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted them to shots being fired in the area of 304 Enfield St. When officers arrived the victim was gone, but they later learned that a male victim with a gunshot wound to the ankle had arrived at a city hospital by private vehicle.
