A pre-dawn shooting shut down parts of two major routes through Hartford Wednesday morning and left one person critically injured, police said.
One person was shot in the chest and is listed as being in critical, but stable, condition, they said. The second injured person — originally thought to have been shot — was cut by flying glass.
The shooting happened near the intersection of Albany Avenue and Sigourney Street, and part of both roads had to be closed while police gathered evidence. The roads were reopened by 8 a.m.
The ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted police to the shooting shortly after 3:30 a.
