Two people were found dead from gunshot wounds after a shooting that put a Norwalk neighborhood on high alert Sunday, police said.
A report of an armed subject in the Chatham Drive area prompted police to tell residents to shelter in place and reporters to stay away.
“This is an active and dangerous situation,” police said on Facebook and Twitter about 5:15 p.m.
At 7 p.m., police said there is no longer a threat to the community, and any residents who were out and unable to return home may do so.
Police later said two people had died of gunshot wounds.
