Two arrested in Manchester after three Black teenagers were called racial slurs, chased

MANCHESTER — Two men were charged Monday, officials said, after police were called to investigate reports that two white men yelled racial slurs and then chased three Black teenagers who were riding their bikes to get diapers for a friend.

Matthew Lemelin, 27, and Michael Lemelin, 28, both face charges including multiple counts of reckless endangerment, breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor, officials said.

Matthew Lemelin was also charged with three counts of second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias and a single count each of sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.

As police investigated the incident, Christina Torres was left questioning what would have happened if the men caught her son and his friends.
