A man who police said held a woman against her will in Torrington for days, choking her and sexually assaulting her, has been arrested.
Cedric Brown, 50, whose last known address was in Torrington, was charged Sunday with first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree strangulation, first-degree sexual assault and criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, police said Monday. His bail was set at $750,000.
According to police, the victim came into the police department lobby on Sunday and said a man she knew had attacked her over 2-3 days.
“The victim was prevented from leaving the residence and blocked from being able to seek any type of help throughout the duration of this incident,” police said.
