UConn's remarkable run of landing the top high school player in the country continued when Christyn Williams committed to UConn today.
Dating back to 2006 when Tina Charles committed to UConn, this is the eighth time the No. 1 rated player in this year's recruiting class when Central Arkansas Christian guard Williams announced at a ceremony at CAC that she would play for Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma at UConn.
Not only did the Huskies secure to the top rated player in 2006 (Charles), 2007 (Maya Moore), 2008 (Elena Delle Donne, who never played for the Huskies), 2011 (Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis), 2012 (Breanna Stewart), 2015 (Katie Lou Samuelson) and 2017 (Megan Walker) but where also in the running to the very end to land the top player in 2010 (Chiney Ogwumike), 2014 (A'ja Wilson) and 2016 (Lauren Cox).
