Expect thunderstorms, possibly strong ones, Thursday afternoon and evening, especially if you live in northern Connecticut.
There’s a chance of scattered thunderstorms between 2-10 p.m., and some may be severe, with damaging winds and hail, the National Weather Service says. The storms also may bring torrential rain and flash flooding in places, and the wind may whip at up to 60 mph.
The highest risk is in northern Connecticut, including parts of Hartford County, and northern Massachusetts, according to the Norton, Mass-based service.
“Keep an eye to the sky this afternoon and seek an indoor shelter if threatening weather approaches,” NWS meteorologists said Thursday morning.
