Threat of snow looms as winter wraps up in Connecticut

After starting the week with sub-freezing temperatures, Connecticut can expect a gradual warmup as it approaches the first day of spring Saturday. But there’s a chance of snow on the last day of winter.

There’s a 50% chance of snow Friday in the Hartford area, Alan Dunham, a National Weather Service meteorologist, said Tuesday. Any snow would likely be less than an inch, he said.

The good news is that the temperatures won’t be as frigid as they were in the last few wind-blown days. The wind will be lighter Tuesday, he said, and it will be sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-30s.
