Thomas Loughman, who arrived at the Wadworth Atheneum five years ago with a mission to make the art museum more welcoming for Hartford residents, is stepping down. The museum announced his departure in a press release Sunday.
“We thank Tom for his contributions to advancing the Wadsworth Atheneum’s programs and initiatives during his time with us. And we are excited by what comes next for the Wadsworth Atheneum,” said William Peelle, president of the Atheneum’s board.
Loughman is stepping down “to further his longstanding commitment to fostering partnerships between arts organizations in this country and abroad,’' the press release states.
